Flex-Tape Knitted Fiberglass Tape

Flex-Tape is a fiberglass tape which has been developed and engineered to meet stringent industrial and reinforcement applications where non-hazardous materials are required. Flex-Tape is currently being used in applications where temperatures reach 1000 degrees F (538 degrees C). Flex-tape exceeds the temperature limits associated with most other fiber tapes.

Flex-Tape is a fiberglass tape manufactured from texturized fiberglass yarns. Whether the construction is knitted or woven, Flex-Tape is the tape of choice in environments where 1000 degrees F is the daily norm.

Flex-Tape knitted tape employs a unique knitted construction that offers specific advantages over woven Flex-Tape in certain applications. Knitted Flex-Tape is easy to wrap, easily taking a radius of up to 90 degrees without buckling, and because of the cellular knitted construction, it is more durable under abrasive conditions and provides better insulating properties.

Flex-Tape woven tape is the choice to make when a stiffer, more rigid construction is desired, such as in a door sweep or similar environments. Due to the rapid production capacities of woven materials, it is also the choice to make when price is a major concern in your application.

Flex-Tape will not burn or smolder and retains as much as 25% of its tensile strength at 1000 degrees. Flex-Tape exhibits a high strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining excellent flexibility.

Applications

Flex-Tape is used in ovens, furnaces and boilers as a door seal, as pipe wrap in such applications as steam tracer lines, as tadpole tape gasket covering material, and in many other gasket and insulation applications.

Available in both a plain and bolt-hole (drop warp) variety, with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), Flex-Tape is the choice to make for your high temperature insulating environments.
